Where Should I Start?
All teachers - create a free teacher account at Code Studio.
Elementary teachers with little to no experience - begin by taking the free Computer Science is FUNdamental course at ESC-20.
Middle school teachers with little to no experience in computer science or programming - consider taking the self-study course Teaching Computer Science Fundamentals at Code Studio to learn how you can utilize the materials in your classroom. In addition, Code.org has Computer Science in Algebra and Computer Science in Science curriculum available for your use at no charge.
Middle and high school teachers with experience - explore the AP Computer Science Principles curriculum (new HS Computer AP course curriculum). In addition, Exploring Computer Science curriculum is available. ECS is a 1 year college prep course that teaches problem solving, web design, programming, animation and robotics.

Computer Science at ESC-20
ESC-20 offers a variety of computer science and robotics trainings throughout the year, both at the Center and in school districts. Free Computer Science training for elementary teachers is provided in partnership with Code.org both at ESC-20 and throughout the region. During the Winter of 2017 ESC-20 received a grant to join the WeTeach_CS collaborative effort to lead a cohort of teachers through Computer Science Certification. Resources and information for the WeTeach_CS collaborative is located on the orange tab above.

Computer Science is FUNdamental
If you have participated in the Hour of Code and are curious as to what comes next - or if you are just wondering whether the Code Studio materials wil fit into your classroom and curriculum, consider attending a free 6 hour workshop - Computer Science is FUNdamental. Classes are offered monthly at ESC20. Go to Connect20 and search for Computer Science to locate sessions. The cost of elementary teacher, librarian, technology and curriculum specialist attendance is underwritten by Code.org. In addition, teachers attending will receive printed curriculum guides, Code.org swag bags and classroom supplies needed to teach the unplugged lessons. Curious about how you can incorporate the Code Studio curriculum into your classroom? This is the session for you!
